Wedding Sites
If your Foundry site is a wedding website, it works a little differently from the rest of this guide, which is mostly written with a business site in mind. This page covers everything that's unique to a wedding site. For anything not covered here - uploading images, editing your Pages, SEO, and so on - the rest of this guide applies as normal.
What's Different on a Wedding Site
- There's a dedicated Wedding tab for the couple's details, venue, schedule, and gift registry (see below).
- Guests replaces the usual enquiries setup - your guest list lives in its own tab, and guests RSVP themselves from the live site.
- There's no Blog Posts tab, and no Settings tab for turning homepage sections on or off - your homepage sections are a fixed set (Hero, About, Guests, FAQs, and Gallery).
- Contact & Social is much simpler - just an email address and your social links, since there's no contact form.
- Design only offers footer customisation - the navigation bar and colour options aren't available.
Everything else - Identity, Pages, SEO, Media Library, and Search - works exactly as described elsewhere in this guide.
The Wedding Tab
Click Wedding in the left menu to manage:
- Wedding Details - both partners' names and the wedding date.
- Venue - the venue name, address, and a Google Maps link.
- Schedule - the order of the day (for example, Arrivals, Ceremony, Evening Reception), each with a title and start/end time. Click Add schedule item to add a new one.
- Gift Registry - an optional message, a link (for example, to a honeymoon fund or registry website), and its own image.
Click Save after making changes, as with any other tab.
Managing Your Guest List
Click Guests (under the Wedding group) to see everyone you've invited. For each guest you can record:
- First name and last name.
- Evening guest only - tick this for guests only invited to the evening celebration.
- Has a plus one - tick this if the guest can bring someone.
- RSVP status - Pending, Attending, or Declined.
- Plus one name and Allergies - filled in by the guest when they RSVP, but you can edit them too.
How Guests RSVP
Your guests don't need an account or a login. On your live wedding website, they search for their own name, find their invitation, and submit their RSVP (including their plus one's name and any allergies) directly. Their response updates the RSVP status in your guest list automatically - you don't need to do anything.
If you have a contact email set on the Contact & Social tab, you'll also receive an email notification each time a guest RSVPs.
Tip: Add all your guests to the list before sharing your website, so they can find themselves when they search.
Contact & Social on a Wedding Site
This tab is simpler than on other Foundry sites:
- Email - shown in your site's footer, and used to send you RSVP notifications. Use Send test submission to confirm it's working, the same as on any other Foundry site.
- Social Profiles - your social media links, exactly as described in Common Tasks.
There's no phone number, address, business hours, or contact form to configure - wedding sites don't include a general enquiry form.
Homepage Sections and Design
A wedding site's homepage is built from a fixed set of sections - Hero, About, Guests, FAQs, and Gallery - managed the same way as described in Pages and Content. There's no Settings tab to turn sections on or off, since the set is fixed for wedding sites.
On the Design tab, only the Footer section is available (copyright text and footer links). Navigation bar styling and colour options don't apply to wedding sites.
