Editing Your Website
This guide explains how to find the content on your website and make changes to it. Whether you need to update some text, swap out an image, or refresh a section, this is where to start.
Finding the Page You Want to Edit
- From the left menu, click Pages.
- You will see a list of all the pages on your website.
- Click the name of the page you want to edit, or click the pencil icon next to it.
The page editor will open and show you all the content fields for that page.
Editing Text
Once you are inside a page, you will see text fields for that page's content. Standard fields include Title (the page name) and Content (the main body text, edited using a rich text editor).
To edit any piece of text:
- Click inside the text field you want to change.
- Delete the existing text and type your new content.
- When you are finished, scroll down and click Save.
What this means: Text fields are just like typing in a document. Click, type, save.
Editing Images
Images on your website are usually linked to fields labelled Image, Background Image, or Photo.
To replace an image:
- Find the image field on the page you are editing.
- Click the upload area, or drag and drop a new image file onto it.
- Select the image file from your computer. It will upload directly to that field.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Tip: Make sure your image is the right size before uploading it. Blurry or stretched images usually mean the image is the wrong dimensions. See the Media section of this guide for image size recommendations.
Updating Sections
Website sections — such as the hero banner, services grid, testimonials, FAQs, and team members — are managed at the site level, not on individual pages.
To edit a section:
- Click My Website in the left menu (shown as Sites if you have more than one site).
- Click the Content tab near the top of the page.
- Select the section you want to update from the tabs shown (for example, Hero, Features / Services, or Testimonials).
- Make your changes to the fields within that section.
- Click Save when you are done.
Saving Your Changes
Always save your work when you are finished. Look for the Save button, usually located at the bottom of the page or in the top right corner.
If you navigate away from a page without saving, your changes will be lost.
Warning: There is no automatic save in Foundry. Always click Save before leaving a page.
Previewing Your Site
After saving changes, you can visit your live website in your browser to see how it looks.
Open a new browser tab and go to your website address. If the changes are not visible, try refreshing the page by pressing Ctrl + R on Windows or Cmd + R on a Mac.
Note: Some changes may take a minute or two to appear on your live site. This is normal.
