Common Tasks
This guide covers the most frequent updates site admins need to make. Use it as a quick reference when you need to make a specific change.
Updating Your Contact Details
If your phone number, email address, or physical address has changed:
- Click My Website in the left menu (shown as Sites if you have more than one site).
- Open the Contact tab.
- Update the relevant fields: phone number, email address, or address.
- Click Save.
Note: Contact details saved here are often used in multiple places across your website, such as the footer, the contact page, and the header. Updating them here will update all instances at once.
Changing Your Phone Number
Your phone number may appear in several places: the header, footer, and contact page. The fastest way to update it everywhere at once is through your site settings.
- Click My Website in the left menu (shown as Sites if you have more than one site).
- Open the Contact tab.
- Find the Phone field.
- Enter your new number.
- Click Save.
If the phone number on your contact page is stored separately from your global settings, you may also need to update it there:
- Go to Pages and open your Contact page.
- Find the phone number field and update it.
- Click Save.
Updating Your Hero Section
The hero section is the large banner at the top of your home page. It usually includes a heading, a short description, a background image, and buttons.
To update it:
- Click My Website in the left menu (shown as Sites if you have more than one site).
- Click the Content tab near the top of the page.
- Click the Hero tab.
- Update the fields you want to change. Common fields include:
- Headline - The main large text.
- Subheading - The smaller text below the headline.
- Background Image - The large image or colour behind the text.
- Primary button text and Primary button link - The main call-to-action button.
- Click Save.
Adding a Testimonial
Testimonials are customer quotes that help build trust with new visitors.
- Click My Website in the left menu (shown as Sites if you have more than one site).
- Click the Content tab near the top of the page.
- Click the Testimonials tab.
- Click New testimonial to add one, or click an existing one to edit it.
- Fill in the fields:
- Author Name - The customer's name.
- Content - What the customer said.
- Author Title (optional) - Their job title.
- Author Company (optional) - The company they work for.
- Rating (optional) - A star rating from 1 to 5.
- Avatar (optional) - A photo of the customer.
- Click Save.
Updating Your Services
If you have added, removed, or changed the services your business offers:
- Click My Website in the left menu (shown as Sites if you have more than one site).
- Click the Content tab near the top of the page.
- Click the Features / Services tab.
- You will see a list of existing services. Click the edit icon next to the one you want to change, or click New feature / service to add a new one.
- Update the relevant fields:
- Title - The name of the service.
- Description - A brief explanation of what it includes.
- Icon or Icon Image (optional) - A visual icon for the service.
- Click Save.
To remove a service, click the delete icon next to it and confirm when prompted.
Updating Your Business Hours
If your opening hours are displayed on your website:
- Click My Website in the left menu (shown as Sites if you have more than one site).
- Open the Contact tab.
- Scroll to the Business Hours section.
- Update the relevant days and times.
- Click Save.
If you cannot find business hours in the Contact tab, they may be stored as text on your Contact page. In that case:
- Go to Pages and open your Contact page.
- Find the hours text field and update it manually.
- Click Save.
Updating Your Logo or Branding
If you have a new logo or need to change your brand colour:
- Click My Website in the left menu (shown as Sites if you have more than one site).
- Open the Branding tab.
- Upload your new logo by clicking the logo upload area or dragging and dropping a new file onto it.
- Click Save.
Note: Logos often need to be PNG files with a transparent background so they look clean against any header colour. If your logo has a white or coloured box around it, the file may not have a transparent background. Ask your designer to provide a version with transparency.
