Troubleshooting

This guide helps you work through common issues you might encounter when using Foundry. Most problems have a simple fix.

My Changes Are Not Showing on the Website

This is one of the most common questions.

Step 1: Check that you saved. Go back to the page you edited and check whether it still shows your changes. If the fields are blank or show the old content, you may not have saved. Make your changes again and click Save.

Step 2: Refresh your browser. Sometimes your browser shows an older version of the page from its memory. Press Ctrl + R on Windows or Cmd + R on a Mac to reload the page.

Step 3: Try a hard refresh. Press Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows or Cmd + Shift + R on a Mac. This forces the browser to load the latest version.

Step 4: Wait a few minutes. Some changes take a short time to appear on the live site. Wait two to three minutes and try again.

If your changes are still not appearing after these steps, contact your support team.

I Cannot Log In

Forgot your password? Click the Forgot your password? link on the login page and follow the instructions. A reset link will be sent to your email address.

Email not arriving? Check your spam or junk folder. If it is not there, try clicking the reset link again and wait a few minutes. Emails occasionally take a little longer to arrive.

Account locked or expired? If you see a message saying your account is locked or inactive, contact your web team or super admin to have your access restored.

An Image Is Not Displaying Correctly

If an image looks stretched, blurry, or is showing as a broken image (a small icon with no picture):

Stretched or oddly cropped image: The image may be the wrong dimensions for the space it is in. Upload a new version of the image with the correct dimensions. See the Media guide for recommended sizes.

Broken image (no picture shown): The image may have been deleted from the media library while still being used on the page. Go to the affected page in the editor, find the image field, and re-upload or select a replacement image.

The Page Editor Looks Different Than Expected

If the editor looks blank, shows an error, or is not loading properly:

  1. Refresh the page in your browser.
  2. Log out and log back in.
  3. Try a different browser (for example, switch from Safari to Chrome).
  4. Clear your browser cache. In Chrome: click the three dots in the top right, go to Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Clear Browsing Data.

If the problem continues, contact your support team and describe what you see on screen.

I Made a Mistake and Want to Undo It

If you have already saved a change and want to undo it:

  • Simply go back to the page, correct the content, and save again.
  • Content in Foundry is not automatically backed up on a per-change basis, so the quickest fix is to re-enter the correct information.

If you have accidentally deleted something important and cannot remember what it said, contact your support team. They may be able to restore it from a backup.

Reassurance: Almost every change you make in Foundry can be undone by making the change again. You are not going to permanently break your website by editing text or replacing an image.

A Section or Feature Is Missing

If you cannot find a feature described in this guide (such as a Blog section or a Testimonials area):

  • Your website may not include that feature. Not all websites built on Foundry use every available feature.
  • Your user account may not have permission to access that section. Contact your super admin or web team.

Something Looks Wrong on the Live Website But I Did Not Change Anything

If your website is showing an error, a broken layout, or unexpected content:

  1. Do not panic. This is rarely caused by something you did.
  2. Take a screenshot of what you can see.
  3. Note the page address (URL) where the issue is occurring.
  4. Contact your support team with the screenshot and the URL.

When to Contact Support

Contact your support team or web administrator if:

  • You cannot log in and have already tried resetting your password.
  • Content you did not change has appeared or disappeared.
  • The entire website is showing an error or blank page.
  • You need to add a new page, a new section type, or a structural change to the website.
  • You are unsure whether an action is safe to take.

When contacting support, it helps to include:

  • A clear description of what you were trying to do.
  • A screenshot of what you can see.
  • The URL of the page where the issue is occurring.

This guide covers the most common situations. If your question is not answered here, your support team will be happy to help.
