Getting Started with Foundry ​

Welcome to Foundry. This guide will walk you through logging in, finding your way around the dashboard, and understanding how your website is organised.

You do not need any technical knowledge to use Foundry. Everything is designed to be straightforward.

Logging In ​

  1. Open your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox all work).
  2. Go to the Foundry content management system - https://foundry.brasslabs.co.uk/
  3. Enter your email address and password.
  4. Click Sign In.

If you have forgotten your password, contact support to reset it.

The Dashboard ​

Once you log in, you will see the dashboard.

The main navigation is on the left side of the screen. It lists the different areas you can manage - typically My Website, Messages, and Media Library.

The main area in the centre of the screen will show you an overview of your website, including any recent activity.

You will generally only need a few of these sections for your day-to-day work.

Tip: The quickest way to find anything in Foundry is Search - press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on a Mac) at any time. See Editing Your Website for the full guide. It's worth learning this early - it is much faster than clicking through tabs.

Understanding How Your Website Is Organised ​

Your website is made up of several parts. Here is a simple overview:

  • My Website is where most of your setup lives - your homepage sections (Hero, Services, Testimonials, and more), your branding, your contact details, your SEO settings, and your extra features. It is organised into tabs, including Identity, Design, Pages, Blog Posts, Contact & Social, SEO, Settings, and Activity (a log of recent changes made to your site), plus a group of homepage-section tabs (Hero, Features, Testimonials, and more - see Pages and Content).
  • Pages are individual pages such as About or Contact. They live inside My Website → Pages rather than their own item in the left menu.
  • Sections are the blocks of content that make up your homepage, such as a hero banner, a services list, or a testimonials area. These are managed from their own tabs inside My Website (Hero, Features, Testimonials, and so on).
  • Messages is your inbox for enquiries submitted through your website's contact form.
  • Media Library is the library of images and files used across your website.
  • Blog is where you manage any news or articles on your site (if your website includes a blog). There is no separate Blog item in the left menu - open it from My Website → Blog Posts.

Note: If your account only has one website, the left menu shows My Website instead of Sites. If you manage several websites, you will see Sites instead, with a list to choose from.

You Cannot Break Your Website ​

Even if you make a mistake, changes can be corrected. Nothing you do in the content areas of Foundry is permanent or dangerous.

If you are ever unsure, save your work and contact your support team before publishing.
